Happy New Year, folks!
We’re just back from a beautiful week away at our cottage with John “Beetle” Bailey and his lovely wife Heidi.  We took over the basement and brought in a tonne of recording gear/instruments and tracked the instruments for our second album!  We’ve got a great collection of (mostly) original songs that we can’t wait for you to hear!

We’re diving into a few overdubs this next month, then on to mixing!  We’ll keep you posted on progress/release dates!

Other exciting news coming very soon….big announcement coming next week!  Stay tuned!

We’re thrilled to be a part of CBC’s “Sounds of the Season” show this Friday morning!  Be sure to tune into 89.1 to hear some great performances and interviews, all “live to air” from right here in Waterloo Region!  We play at 6:45 and 7:37!

We had a great time in Calgary this past weekend, where we took part in the Canadian Folk Music Awards!  Diana was nominated in the “Traditional Singer” category and although she didn’t take home the trophy that night, we feel loved and accepted for the work we’ve put into the creation and promotion of our album, “Old Fashioned Way“.

This album was a dream to make, and would not have been possible without the expertise and support of our engineer, co-producer, and most importantly friend John Bailey (and the rest of the Bailey clan!!).  For those who have been lucky enough to work with John, you’ll know that he is truly one of kind.  The dedication he brings to his craft is astounding – not only in the details of the sound recording, but in the nurturing of friendships and maintaining a positive work environment for all involved.

As we gear up for the recording of our second album this winter (again with John at the helm!), we’d like to publicly thank you, John, for your support, expertise and friendship.  To Beetle!!!

The Canadian Folk Music Awards

We have had a busy winter/spring and it’s looking like an even busier summer. Here are some updates:

Live Concert Recording/Video
We played a sold out show at Fresh Ground Cafe in downtown Kitchener this past April and captured the whole evening. We’re currently mixing / editing with John “Beetle” Bailey and hope to have it online soon.

Upcoming Shows
We’ve got some exciting shows booked this summer! A few highlights:

June 10th – Pioneer Park Neighbourhood Concert Series, Kitchener Ontario (7-9pm)
June 21st – Castle Kilbride Concert on the Lawn Series, Baden Ontario (7pm)

June 23rd – Lana’s Lounge, Waterloo, Ontario (6-9pm)
July 10th – The Ship, St. John’s, Newfoundland (9pm)
August 12th – The Boathouse, Kitchener Ontario (1pm)
**part of Kitchener Blues Fest**, we will be hosting a workshop entitled “Circle Unbroken….the music of the Carter Family and the roots of Americana”.
